Our first meal in Dublin....
Dublin was tricky for lodging. We wanted to stay right in the city and be able to walk or take buses etc but I could NOT find anything for us. It was hugely expensive, or there weren't enough rooms, or it was in the party party section of town.I finally found something for us that was in Dun Laoghaire, but with the train right there to easily get into town. There was an expedia deal for stay 2 nights get one free, which made it a good deal, I think around $115 a night. It was the Royal Marine Hotel and was VERY nice. We made it to the hotel, got checked in, then headed out. We had reserved seats on a haunted bus tour of Dublin and we needed to find it! It was scheduled to leave at 10:30 pm. We headed out - found the spot, then had some time to grab something to eat. We couldn't find anything nearby, and finally ducked into a McDonalds -
The bus tour was fun. We had a long day and night - and we soon discovered that the ease of using the trains or buses were not going to work for us because they quit running at 12:30 am or so.... We got a couple cabs and headed back to our hotel.
There is a ghost in this pick - that little white circle - see it?
Our night became a little longer, as some partyers set off the fire alarm sometime in the middle of the night - OH the noise. And we didn't know what to do. We threw some clothes on and made our way outside, then heard it was a false alarm.....
