Time to take the train to Edinburgh. We tried to incorporate all modes of transportation on the trip, so decided we'd do a train for this piece. We left from Kings Cross station near our hotel on May 5th at 9:00 am. It was a total of 51 pounds for two tickets. We purchased these well in advance online. The tickets cost more the closer to the departure date, so we saved considerably. It was a 4 1/2 hour journey.

We arrived in Edinburgh and walked to the Flat we rented. It had 4 bedrooms - we chose the ones we wanted and got settled. We had a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. We did use them those 2 days - was nice to have all clean laundry again and not be carrying around dirty clothes.
We took off walking to the Royal Mile to explore..... We of course found a pub and something to eat. This was one of my best meals - chicken breast stuffed with Haggis with a white whiskey sauce. Ohhhh it was good.

I loved the closes along the Royal Mile - they were cool looking, and kind of spooky at the same time.

We took the tour of Mary Kings Close. The history of Edinburgh is amazing. Really enjoyed it. Some of our group did a couple of walking tours of the Royal Mile and they thoroughly enjoyed them.
