We headed to the airport to pick up our cars. We had decided that Mike and JR would drive. Ted and I would ride with Mike and Wendy and JR and Carol, Pat and Tony would be in the other car. JR would take the lead and we'd follow. We didn't get gps - but we had some maps and knew which way we wanted to go so off we went! First stop was to be the William Wallace Monument near Stirling. Driving was definitely a challenge. First being on the wrong side of the car, then the wrong side of the road. We had our maps, and us girls in the back tried to gently give some clues about turns etc coming up but we didn't want to make Mike nervous or uptight, so we kept it fairly quiet. Apparently in the car ahead of us it was a bit different. They had the navigator in the front with 1 map and then a different map in back with the girls and the maps not quite matching up! I picture them with loud rock and roll music playing and lots of yelling "turn right, no turn left" while in our car, we have classical music playing and Wendy and I reading a book, telling Mike he's doing a good job. Really once we go the hang of it we really just needed to watch for road number changes, and figure out ahead of time which way we needed to come out of the roundabouts.
